Elisabeth Hasselbeck confronts Bill Maher on 'The View'

By Joe Burbank, AP
Finally! A View feud. It feels like we haven't had one of those in a long time. It's Bill Maher vs. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and it started yesterday when he appeared on the show to promote his new book.
Hasselbeck brought up a moment that "bothered" her, she said. She took exception to a joke Maher made in spring in which he suggested that after former Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarek released Lara Logan, we would send Hasselbeck in exchange. "That wasn't that funny," she said to him, as he sat right next to her.
"It was not aimed at you personally, but you are a public figure," he calmly told her, explaining his show is on HBO.
She didn't let up, taking it very seriously. Maher, "It's so great to be here on The View to talk to all of you - or one of you."
Barbra Walters broke in, eventually, saying, "She was hurt, we love her." And, added, "I went through years of Barbara Wa Wa and I survived."
Maher then appeared on David Letterman's Late Show last night and recountedThe View appearance, saying, "I was so abused. I felt like a teenage boy at Penn State."
He added, "I like her a lot. We have this relationship on TV where we play like we hate each other. It makes the sex hotter."

And this morning Hasselbeck tweeted:
"Major migraine. Suggestions?"
She wound up feeling so ill that she went home and did not appear on Wednesday's show.
