Boehner Demands Answers From Obama On Libya

House Speaker John Boehner sent an open letter to President Barack Obama today demanding to know who knew what and when in what has now developed into a three-pronged scandal: The lack of security at our consulate in Benghazi, the fact that nothing was done during the seven-hour attack to bring in American reinforcements, and the dishonest narrative that evolved afterwards that blamed the attack on a spontaneous protest and YouTube video.

Via Politico:
“Mr. President, our country will not be able to move on from the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2012 until the public better understands the answers to these key questions and concerns,” Boehner wrote to Obama. “I request you publicly address the public regarding these issues as soon as possible.”
Among the points Boehner wants Obama to address is whether Stevens ever raised concerns to the president or the White House about the security situation in Libya. Documents previously released by House investigators showed Stevens and other U.S. officials on the ground in Libya had alerted the State Department of increasing violence and security concerns there.
“The American public is increasingly reading information contradicting early accounts by your Administration of the causes of the events of the day,” Boehner wrote in his three-page letter. “In the absence of your direct engagement to clarify these concerns, the public’s frustration and confusion is likely to discredit efforts to achieve our shared goals of justice and accountability for the direct assault on American interests and the deaths of four public servants.”
In the closing days of the campaign, Romney has made a calculated and, in my opinion, wise decision to not prosecute Libya. Because the corrupt media's determined to drag Obama over the finish line, they're not only downplaying the scandal, they're also playing whack-a-mole with Romney every time he dares bring the issue up. We've seen this time and again, and it all culminated in the second presidential debate when The Corrupt Candy Crowley dropped a false fact-check on Romney to protect Her Precious One.
But that doesn't mean that while Romney smartly sticks to campaigning on the future that his surrogates can't be out there blistering Obama on Libya.
Right now Obama's out there, in the heat of this scandal and with the media letting him get away with it, running on a theme of "trust."
Boehner, Cantor, McCain, Graham, etc. should be swarming the television airwaves right now on Romney's behalf, and beginning every interview with...
The President is running his reelection campaign on a theme of 'trust'' when we now know we can't trust him to protect our diplomats, rescue them when under fire, or tell the American people the truth afterwards...
Romney's not in an either/or situation. It's not either Romney jumps into this debate or the corrupt media protects Obama from paying a political price for it.
Romney has surrogates, plenty of them, and they need to get out there.
