US: Real Obama Revealed In Bumbling Debate Performance – Investors.com

2012 Campaign: President Obama’s abysmal performance was a shocking revelation to many who saw it. Why were they surprised? The Barack Obama the media have nurtured, promoted and protected isn’t the real one.
From Chris Matthews to Bill Maher to Andrew Sullivan, left-wing pundits and media sycophants who’ve promoted Obama’s political career were frantic after Wednesday’s debate.
“What was he doing?” shouted a furious Matthews.
“A disaster,” said Sullivan.


“Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter!” tweeted Maher, understandably miffed since he’s given more than $1 million to get Obama re-elected.
But their anger is misplaced. After all, they stage-managed Obama’s career for him, refusing to ask tough questions, not looking into his past, and, in general, giving him a pass that wouldn’t be given to anyone else.
These and others are the same media folks who slobbered over Obama but never fully vetted him in 2008 — and who have for four years since refused to cover him honestly.
In 2008, the big media failed to look into Obama’s background and weren’t even interested in whether he was qualified to be president. He waltzed through the debates, with the liberal TV anchors and fellow candidates deferring to him. Republican candidate John McCain refused to hit Obama for his far-left beliefs, and halted his campaign when the financial crisis hit.
So now they’re surprised that the untested man behind the curtain doesn’t quite, well, measure up?
This was the first real debate Obama ever had with someone who dared to defend himself and to question not just Obama’s ideas, but also his dismal economic record — the worst of any president in the postwar era.
The media have instead focused on distorting Romney’s beliefs and record as a leader and successful businessman. Any wonder that Obama leads in the polls?
So the 60 million TV viewers tuning in to the debate were no doubt surprised at what they saw: A thin-skinned, ill-prepared, smirking, at times bored president, who stumbled over his own words and didn’t seem to have answers for Romney’s laserlike ripostes.
For the first time, Americans saw the real Barack Obama — not the one the media invented, elevated and subsequently protected from all scrutiny.
And who is this real Barack Obama?
A man with a murky, leftist past who never ran anything in his life, and whose lackluster state and U.S. senatorial career is characterized by “voted present.”
A man who distrusts business, the backbone of job creation, and seems to believe higher taxes and more government spending lead to greater economic growth — something no legitimate economist would agree with.
Romney took advantage of this to punch big holes in the myth of Obama as a successful president.
As Romney noted, Obama vowed to cut the deficit in half. It’s remained over $1 trillion for four years. He promised to cut unemployment below 6%. It’s still above 8%. He promised to be a uniter, not a divider. Instead, America has never been so politically polarized.
In Denver, voters saw the real Mitt Romney go toe-to-toe with the real Barack Obama. It was no contest.
